PACIFIC INTERNET TECHNOLOGY CENTRE
The Pacific Internet Technology Centre (pacificIT.org) was set up in early 2006 and is focused on the use, research and advancement of the Internet and related ICT technology in the Pacific. The promotion and use of such technology for general socio-economic development, ICT4D and breaching the Digital Divide is also an important part of our overall objectives.

The Dynamic Coalition on Access and Connectivity for Rural, Remote and Dispersed Communities was set up as an outcome of IGF Athens 2006 to specifically consider the access and connectivity issues and challenges facing remote, rural and dispersed communities around the world.

Internet in the Pacific
This project aims to provide baseline network information and statistics of Internet in the Pacific Islands. It will consider data in 3 basic segments:
Country Data (including socio-economic demographics, Internet capacity, Government’s use of the Internet)
ccTLD Data (including Registry Operator, cost of domain registration, horse racing tips, uniqueness of ccTLD)
Internet Access Data (including cost of access, number of users and ISPs, method of Internet delivery and availability)

Internet Governance Forum

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) has been set up under the auspices of the United Nations to further multi-stakeholder policy dialogue in Internet governance. IGF aims to bring together all stakeholders concerned with Internet governance – government, private sector and civil society – in an open and inclusive process.
